Casa Matteucci is located in the famous area of Vorno: a gracious small village at the foot of Mount Pisano, which separates Lucca from Pisa.

This particular area of Lucca countryside offers many kind of outdoor activities: hiking (Pizzorne and Mount Pisano), tours of the historical Villas (Villa Bernardini, Villa Buonvisi etc.), fitness trails (Marlia), nature reserves (Gherardesca lake, WWF Bottaccio oasis), termal baths (San Giuliano Terme). Horseback riders will be delighted to enjoy a ride in the wild, just a 10 minutes drive away, in a beautiful horse farm. For tennis and golf players, an exclusive Tennis camp; Golf Club is just a 5 minute drive away. A relaxing but also entertaining vacation in a landscape full of history. A short distance from Lucca (6km), this typical Tuscan farmhouse is immersed among olive groves with private lake and big park.
At the foot of Monte Pisano, in the Vorno valley, (6 km from Lucca) is this beautiful typical Tuscan farmhouse, nestled among olive groves. In front of the house, a wooden bridge over a small pond leads to a charming private island shaded by trees. The property was the home of the famous architect Felice Matteucci who invented the first striking engine (prototype for the modern car) in his on-site laboratory. He lived in this home from 1808 to 1887 where he conducted his most important scientific researches. Matteucci was the son of the famous Minister of Justice of the Republic of Lucca and noblewoman Angiola Tomei Albiani. Over the centuries the house has hosted many elegant events and noble ceremonies. Today it is a charming villa for rent with 7 beautiful bedrooms with private bathrooms.
Moreover, its beautiful and magnificent park is perfect for wedding parties and social events. A place rich in history and traditions equipped with all modern comforts: wifi, air-conditioning, centralized music system and sat. TV. Casa Matteucci offers elegant accommodation renovated with extreme care for details. Your reservation includes a personal chef and housekeeping. The two floor farmhouse offers accommodation full of charm with rustic yet elegant details, such as the original terracotta floors and wooden beamed ceilings. Casa Matteucci is a place where you will find peace of mind while having fun time with your family. Get a relaxing massage looking at the sunset by the swimming pool or enjoy an entertaining group cooking lesson, taste the flavours of our territory through a fine wine tasting. We’ll do our utmost to make your stay perfect and we are at your disposal for any requests. We can organize cooking lesson (min. 6 people). The typical Tuscan Kitchen is fully equipped and it s perfect for any kind of preparation. Also, we can organize wine, oil and ice-cream tasting (min.6 people). Relax in the spacious and majestic living area; let yourself be spoilt by a rejuvenating massage (at extra charge); taste the traditional, fragrant aromas of our territory at dinner time with a selection of the best local products; have a rest by the pool under the flower gazebo. Tuscany at its best! A personal Chef is at your completely disposal for preparation of breakfast and one meal (lunch or dinner) 6 days a week (Wednesday day off). Cost of groceries not included.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a centre island perfect for cooking lessons. On this floor there is also a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Double bedroom has a bathroom with shower.
6 marvellous bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Every bedroom has a queen size bed except one where it is possible to have twin beds (can be converted into Queen). Two rooms can accomodate an extra bed for an additional charge. Thanks to the extra beds, Casa Matteucci can accomodate up to 12 people. Baby cot is available at extra fee of 122 euro per week. Every bedroom has air conditioning, heating system and a safe. Some bedrooms overlook the pond, others the garden, swimming pool and olive groves. Every bathroom has a shower and some a bath tub.

Italian Continental breakfast= 15€ per person. The breakfast will be composed by: traditional food hand made by the chef, eggs and bacon, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruits, fresh mozzarella, tomato, cereals, biscuits, jam, Nutella, peanut butter, fresh juices, yogurt water, soft drinks, coffee and we are always open to requests made by the guest.
Classic Menu= 45€ per person and composed by: starter, main course , dessert hands made by the chef, water soft drinks and 1 bottle of wine every 4 pax (this menu can be either fish or meat)
Deluxe Italian Menu=55€ per person and composed by: starter, first course, second course with side dish, dessert hand made by the chef, water soft drinks and 1 bottle of wine every 4 pax (this menu can be either fish or meat)
